[Now News Channel] The Leisure Dream Art Education Program discovers grassroots students with artistic potential and receives courses taught by senior art instructors at affordable tuition. Some instructors feel that education is not only the transfer of knowledge, but also a resonance of life.
Secondary 2 student Liang Jiajian: "(How do you feel when you draw?) It's very relaxing and happy. (Why do you think you have these feelings?) (Because) you can express yourself to your heart's content."
Suffering from autism, Jiajian started participating in Teacher Zheng’s painting class about four years ago and became his apprentice through the Leisure Dream Art Education Program for grassroots students.
Teacher Zheng believes that the painting class gives Jiajian a special environment to express himself.
Zheng Zhiming, the instructor of Amusement Road Dream World: "Art really emphasizes the sincerity, and he is expressing the sincerity."
In the art world, Jiajian dares to express his dreams.
Amusement Road Dream World Instructor Zheng Zhiming: "What is your dream?"
Liang Jiajian: "Be a chef. (Drawing) There is a fish, sushi, French fries, fish eggs, and a bowl of rice."
I also became brave enough to try.
Zheng Zhiming: "He sometimes doesn't have much confidence, doesn't he?"
Liang Jiajian: "Yes."
Zheng Zhiming: "Then what should you do if you don't have confidence?"
Liang Jiajian: "Try it."
Zheng Zhiming: "Yes, don't be afraid of making mistakes."
The Dream Together Art Education Program aims to discover grassroots children with artistic potential and enthusiasm, pair them with senior art instructors to become masters and apprentices, receive courses at affordable tuition, and hold exhibitions of student works to share their creative achievements with the public.
Zheng Zhiming: "Are you going to fix this?"
Liang Jiajian: "Yes."
Teacher Zheng hopes that more excellent tutors will participate in the program so that more grassroots students can understand the beauty of art.
Zheng Zhiming: "What they lack and differentiate are resources. Resources are not just money, but include knowledge, information, and opportunities. This project made me reflect that education is more than just the transfer of knowledge, it is a resonance of life."
